Police are on the hunt for a man who hurled a bike onto a railway, setting off a spark on the tracks.

Video which went viral online shows three men arguing on a platform in Sidcup station, in south east London, before one of them grabs a bike and lifts it in the air.

It is then thrown down by a man in grey, prompting smoke to rise from the rails after an initial electrical explosion, the clip shows.

According to one onlooker a train came up the track only seconds later.

They said: 'A train was close, they had to do an emergency stop and almost went left.'

In the footage, taken on Tuesday, one of the men could be seen trying to pull a bicycle away from the man in grey coat as another intervened between them before it was tossed.
