While the John Wick movies are pretty serious affairs, Keanu Reeves showed his fun side by sliding down a handrail between scene takes.
John Wick star Keanu Reeves has proven that despite the seriousness of his action movie character, the actor himself is still a big kid at heart as a new video shows him opting to slide down a handrail while on location filming the fourth movie in the franchise. In footage that shows Reeves out on a snowy set working on a scene from John Wick: Chapter 4, the actor is seen being filmed by a helicopter in the snow, but not before he makes his way to the right spot by hopping on a handrail and riding it down some steps.
John Wick made its debut in 2014 and despite low expectations, the film was a big hit with audiences thanks to its action sequences and soon the franchise expanded with John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017 and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum two years later. Now after a pandemic delay, John Wick: Chapter 4 will be arriving in March 2023 and fans will be eagerly awaiting the next installment of the franchise, which has so far been a huge hit with audiences and critics alike having not received any bad reviews and seeming to get better with each movie.
Seeing Reeves have a little fun in between filming intense scenes for John Wick 4 shows that the star is more than happy in his work and while the set video and images don’t give anything away about the movie itself it gives another look at Reeves in his all-black suit clearly ready to take on whoever comes his way. The pictures also show Reeves with his left ring finger covered with a black sleeve, which will be to allow the finger to be removed in post-production as this is the finger Wick was forced to cut off in the last movie.

The John Wick franchise may have started off with a relatively low-budget, the first movie costing under $30 million, and while subsequent movies increased the cost - with John Wick 3 costing $75 – the box office returns have also grown significantly from $86 million to $327 million by the third movie.
There is no doubt that John Wick 4 will increase both these numbers again when the film finally makes its debut, and a fifth installment was originally meant to be film back to back with the fourth. It is pretty much a foregone conclusion that this will not be the last time we see John Wick on the big screen either.
Thanks to the increasing budget and the need to expand the movie in new ways, John Wick 4 has seen Reeves filming in a number of locations around the world, having shot in Japan, Germany, France and Utah, the latest video comes from pick-up shots in New York, which is almost a spiritual home for the movies considering it is the location of the iconic Continental hotel.
The Continental itself will also be getting its own spinoff event series starring Mel Gibson, which is also said to feature appearances by both Reeves and fellow John Wick star Ian McShane who will be reprising his role of Winston Scott in some capacity. All in all, it is a good time to be a John Wick fan and the franchise is certainly a long way from being done yet.
