An Argentinian train passenger has been helped by officials after falling asleep across two seats and getting his head stuck in a metal armrest.

The commuter — who has not been named by local media — panicked when he woke up and was unable to get his head free.

The incident was captured on camera by fellow commuter, Juan Andres, who was traveling on the train in Buenos Aires.

Andres posted the footage to Twitter, where it has been viewed more than 600,000 times in two days.

In the clip, the bearded commuter can be seen with his head sticking out into the aisle as other bemused travelers look on.

Despite twisting and turning, he was unable to squeeze his head back out from beneath the metal armrest.

The train was subsequently delayed so station officials could be called in to help free the man.

Many Twitter users were amused by the man’s predicament, with one saying they “couldn’t stop laughing” at Andres’ video.

Others were left baffled as to how the man got his head positioned beneath the tight metal armrest in the first place.

“I need to understand how this guy ended up like that, I’m stunned,” one comment read.

But not everyone saw the funny side, with several saying they empathized with the commuters who were held up on the train.

“Can you imagine arriving at work and being asked why you are late only to have to give that answer?” one asked. “Your boss’ face would be like ‘Are you screwing with me or what?’”
